BMW fans who have been eagerly awaiting the first shipment of the 2012 BMW 3 Series can rejoice - we just got several 3 Series models on the Richmond BMW lot. And not only do we have the 3 Series, we also have the 328i with the N20 Turbo engine. Although it's a turbo engine, it's also highly fuel efficient, and not all dealerships have received this variation on the 3 series yet!
The 3 Series represents a fresh and dynamic retooling of traditional BMW design cues and a vessel for luxury, technology, and efficiency. The body of the 3 Series shows off a new face, with elongated headlights that reach to the kidney grille. A moderate change in track width and car length adds an athletic profile to the car and extra space the rear passengers will definitely notice.
Drivers can choose between two strong and efficient engines, the 6-cylinder N55 engine that already powers the 335i, or the new turbo 4-cylinder (N20) variant. The N20 turbo engine gives a powerful, almost sports-like driving experience, yet significantly reduces fuel consumption. First in the segment is the 8-speed automatic gearbox that can be specified with the 328i or the 335i. It now includes the new Auto Start-Stop function, and allows the 3 Series to match or beat the fuel economy of models with the 6-speed manual gearbox.
The front interior is focused on the cockpit, which keeps all important controls within easy reach. Four circular dials come with a black panel display and the freestanding iDrive monitor is close by for the driver. Passengers have a variety of convenient features, such as two large drink holders in the center console that can be swapped out for an oddments tray. When not in use, the tray can be stored in the glove compartment. An optional Comfort Access allows the trunk to be opened hands-free and without the use of a key. 40-20-40 split rear backseats are versatile for either passengers or long items - or both at the same time. BMW ConnectedDrive technology provides comfort and safety, offering features like Parking Assistant and Surround View and alos office services, a calendar, and Facebook.
